WE are officially in a groove. I am enjoying and just lovin' the heck out of my kids right now. They say and do the funniest things. They keep me smiling and feeling loved. I was made for kindergarten, like it or not! I love my hugs everyday, and my attitudes. They cry at failure, which is how I feel sometimes. They act the way everyone wants to, but knows better than to. They are honest. They think I draw well and am an amazing artist (I'm not!)They tell me they love me in the middle of a lesson, distracting yes, but heartwarming too. No they can't be still long enough for me to show them where we live on a globe, or without putting their hands all over the kids all around them so as to torture them... but all in all, I have a wonderful class full of kids who are pretty open to learning everyday, aside from the few tantrums, potty accidents, sink bubble experiments they are constantly conducting in the bathrooms, they are wonderful! ;)
On the flip side. It is awesome to see the zeal Dustin has for expecting greatness from his students. He has a knack for those freshman kids. Since we live in the same neighborhood as the school he is teaching, I really get to see his relationship with his students. They all seem to want to please him. They respect him. They make him feel proud. I can tell. He is so happy. We each have stories to tell about our days and miss not getting the chance to sometimes when that does not happen. WE are in a happy place. He cares about each of his kids and that is so great to see in a highschool level. HE is going the extra mile to make sure someone is making up a test, or taking care of things they are forgetting to turn in. He is so involved. Football is his passion so it has been wonderful how he has been allowed to be involved with the freshman in that venue as well. I think he feels valued there and it is just awesome to see. I am proud of him!
Peyton, dear Peyton! Y'all pray! She is leaving us again at the end of October to go to Camp Grady Spruce with her school and this time I am not able to go. I know she will have fun. She has made some great friendships already and this school environment seems to have brought her some comfort in the innocent again. She is no longer embarrassed to like the Jonas Brothers, High School Musical, and Disney stars, which she all of a sudden last year was embarrassed by after a couple of girls in her class decided it was babyish. She is becoming a "young lady" (that is what my mom always used to say and it embarrassed me)but is there a better way to put it. Not quite sure. She is wearing my shoes, which is a bad thing and growing everyday! It is so hard to believe I have a pre-teen. Lord help us! Seriously, just pray for a Godly attitude and desire to live in a way that would glorify Christ.
While you're praying... Go ahead and pray that for us all!
Signing off for now
Goodnight!
